Happy New Year!

Feels good to be in 2013. Last night we picked up my good friend Elvi and went to see the bonfire and fireworks at Somerniemen tori. Then we came back home and Cameron let off some of his own fireworks close to where we live.

We also visited the church just before the midnight mass in Somerniemi and lit some candles for the year ahead.

It's been a non-eventful day today. I've done a lot of post-Christmas cleaning though and now my bedroom is an oasis of calm and tranquility.

Otherwise a fairly normal day in the Merelle household. Luca and Niko bickering about their toys (Niko is NOT allowed to touch anything remotely connected to Fireman Sam, and Luca can only touch the police toys with Niko's written permission).

I have a whole pile of plans and ambitions for this year, and top priority is finding the family a new home. There are also plenty of other things on the list, but whatever happens, we are determined to make this year better year than last. Let's hope it's a good one for all of us.
