Tree of Hope

It's been an odd day today. I am quite certain that I woke up with an angel in the room who has followed me for the rest of the day. My friend Hannele even said the other day that she sensed an angel close to me in a photograph I showed her, so I am not the only one!
This tree of hope of now in our living room

I bumped into someone today whom previously I had only met once before, on the beach in Somero during the summer. (The summer....remember what that is?)  I was more than a little surprised when he announced to me that he was certain we had in fact been friends in another life.  He even told me some of the things that had happened. Wasn't quite what I had been expecting to hear when I drove into town this morning....but fascinating nonetheless.

Then I received a text this afternoon from someone I met on a plane around nine years ago (Hi Jean!) We swapped numbers at the time (remember this was before Facebook!) and were in touch for a while.  Jean and I met on one other occasion, but have not been in touch since. And there he was today. When I texted back to ask where he was at the moment, I wasn't expecting his answer either. The Maldives. How is that fair?

Much as I adore Somero, I had to admit just a tiny pang of envy at the thought of him being able to go outside into the sun without wearing thermal underwear and mittens.

I also received news this afternoon of a house coming onto the market - which just possibly may be what we are looking for. I am keeping my fingers crossed on this one, as my top priority this year is to find a new home for myself and the children, and this one sounds like it could be a contender.

Anyway, it's early evening as I write this. I am alone in the flat with Cameron and we are having a quiet evening in together. The night is yet young, so I am fully expecting more strange things to happen. The angel is still right here with me. I can feel it.

To symbolise our family's hope that this year will be better than the last I have also bought a tree of lights.  It is supposed to be put outside and I had planned to put it on the balcony, but the children liked it so much they insisted it stayed in our living room for the time being. And it clearly works. It's only been here one day and already I've got an angel following me around town. Who knows what the weekend will bring?  Have a good one everyone.

  1. I wish I could recall things from my previous life as well... Or have someone to tell me something. :)

  2. well who knows Katri...the way things are going for us at the moment you never know what might be round the corner. Strange things going on in Somero at the moment! And I am sure this tree is enchanted.
